The Spanish Committee of UNESCO's Person and Biosphere Programme supports the strategy to strengthen governance in the Spanish Network of Biosphere Reserves.

The 21st Meeting of the Spanish Committee of UNESCO's Person and the Biosphere (MaB) Programme was held today. This body, chaired by Jorge Marquínez, Director General of Biodiversity, Forests, and Desertification of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), is attended by the competent Directors General of the sixteen autonomous communities with biosphere reserves in their territories and representatives of the Committee's Management and Scientific Councils, along with representatives of environmental organizations, unions, agricultural and business organizations, municipalities and provinces, and other ex officio members of the Committee.
