MITECO receives 485 proposals for transformative projects in the areas of green jobs, sustainability of the fishing sector, bioeconomy, and marine biodiversity conservation.

The Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) closed the application period for the 2025 calls for proposals under the Empleaverde+ and Pleamar programs in July, which have been highly sought after. A total of 358 applications were received, aimed at promoting training for green jobs and the sustainability of fishing, through the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) and the European Maritime Fund for Fisheries and Aquaculture (EMFAF), respectively. These two calls are complemented by two lines of aid financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), aimed at boosting the bioeconomy and promoting research for the conservation and restoration of the marine environment, which received a total of 127 proposals.
